What happens when you uninstall?

When you uninstall Tweakrix Driver Updater:

  • The application is removed from Windows
  • Background services (if present) are removed
  • The app no longer runs at startup

Important:
Uninstalling the app does not remove or change your device drivers automatically. Drivers already installed on your system remain installed unless you manually change them.

Optional: remove remaining settings (advanced)

In most cases, nothing else is required.

  • Only remove these folders if you want to reset the app settings.
  • This will not affect your Windows drivers.

If you want to remove remaining configuration files, you may delete these folders:

  • %APPDATA%\Tweakrix\DriverUpdater\
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\Tweakrix\DriverUpdater\

To open these folders quickly:

  1. Press Win + R
  2. Paste the path and press Enter

Optional step. Safe for advanced users, but not required for normal uninstall.

If uninstall fails

If you can’t uninstall normally, try the following:

1) Restart Windows and try again

A reboot often resolves uninstall issues caused by locked files.

2) Run the uninstaller as Administrator

  • Right-click the app uninstall option
  • Select Run as administrator (if available)

3) Use Windows Safe Mode (advanced)

If Windows blocks uninstall due to running services, try uninstall in Safe Mode.
